Rachel has been under my tutelage since 2010. She entered the world of watercolor to learn all about the different aspects of the media and since then has been learning all the elements of art: line, space, texture, form, value and color. In the painting below she used the technique of salt to produce the snow in a blurred background while learning how to create the texture of feathers. Learning what technique to use to imitate life is just as hard as learning how to paint to achieve your goal. Rachel has come a long way with her drawing skill and looks forward to learning more about controlling the watercolor media.
