James started taking art classes with his cousin Elizabeth in October 2011. James is very meticulous and concentrates very hard on his artwork. The watercolor below is the outcome of the Motif project where students must create a design that later will be repeated four times onto watercolor paper using a sheet of graphite. The design can repeat in any way they want including upside down or from the reverse side. Then the student must decide on the color scheme that best suits their vision for the piece; James used a lot red and yellow as he enjoys those colors in a lot of his artwork. This painting has a very tribal feel.
